About the TDMA

The Titanium Dioxide Manufacturers Association (TDMA) represents the major European producers of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and has been their voice since 1974.

Our members develop products that are seen in almost every aspect of daily life. The products and applications developed by our members are at the heart continuous innovation. The role of the TDMA is to support our members by promoting and defending the merits of TiO2 in all suitable applications. We provide comprehensive, authoritative, and trusted information about the safety and use of TiO2.

About TiO2

TiO2 is a bright white substance used primarily as a vivid colourant in a wide array of common products such as paints, plastics, paper, pharmaceuticals, suncreams, and cosmetics.

Uses of TiO2

TiO2 is safe

TiO2 has been approved for use in Europe for a century, with studies repeatedly showing no harmful effects to the public or workers. TiO is one of the most versatile compounds in the world and is found in an extraordinarily diverse range of products and technologies we see and use every day, including paint, plastics, cosmetics, sunscreens, glass, and even catalytic converters. Its varied properties mean it can be used in many ways, for example as a vibrant white colourant, to protect from UV radiation, and to reduce pollution. If you want to read more click here.
